Food and hospitality are time honored Middle Eastern traditions. Hosts were known to treat their guests like royalty. Once the weary traveler refreshed himself with tasty delights and wonderful company, the host would see him off with a warm handshake and basket full of sweets.
The Najjar family has always loved entertaining and bringing guests into their homes. The family’s warmth and hospitable manner along with delectable pastries and sweets, secured the family’s reputation as the place to go to enjoy wonderful desserts. When the Najjar family immigrated to Brooklyn NY in 1972, they brought along their ancient recipes that were perfected over centuries. The sweet smells of baklavas and Turkish delights brought in customers that grew up with these wonderful sweets as well as people who never tasted fine Middle Eastern pastries.
More than thirty years later, discriminating restaurant operators, gourmet markets, along with small cafes and teahouses still clamor for the exotic freshly baked pastries and confections to sell in their own establishments.
As the world becomes a smaller community, people crave more adventurous and sophisticate tastes. The Najjar family is proud to offer the finest hand-baked pastries and confections, along with the highest quality, to inspire and delight. A long flight and a passport is no longer a prerequisite to enjoy some of the world’s oldest and most delicious pastries. The Najjar’s are glad to bring to your table a little taste of their own special hospitality.
